Meet Your Teacher
Frances D Booth LICSW
Frances Booth has been a clinical social worker for 40+ years. A dynamic and thoughtful teacher, she has extensive clinical experience and is a certified trainer for PESI and the IFS Institute.
Fran’s therapeutic approach integrates contemporary psychology and eastern spirituality. Her trauma informed theoretical framework is influenced largely by Internal Family Systems, relational, attachment, and intrapsychic paradigms.

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
This program integrates the methodology of Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and other trauma-informed models to support you to heal underlying past trauma and pain in yourself and your clients.
IFS is a clinically proven user-friendly methodology with powerful results for personal growth and healing.
IFS is grounded on the idea that our inner world consists of parts (or sub-personalities) and that together these parts form an inner system. In an attempt to protect us from pain, from time to time, our various parts conflict with each other and act in unhelpful and dysfunctional ways.
This three-part Integrative Somatic Parts Work training, comprised of Levels 1, 2 and 3, teaches us to relate to all of our parts with openness, curiosity, and compassion. Through this process we allow each part to reveal its hidden agenda and the pain it is protecting us from.
Integrative Somatic Parts Work prepares us to listen and engage with the different aspects of ourselves more deeply and more thoroughly so that we can better know their subtleties and the unconscious beliefs they hold.

CERTIFICATE CURRICULUM
Both Levels 1 and 2 comprise eight hours of study each, and Level 3 comprises 9 hours of study, totaling 25 hours all together.
Level 1 must be completed (on-demand) as a prerequisite for Level 2. Levels 1 and 2 must be completed (on-demand) as a prerequisite for Level 3.
Complete Levels 1 through 3 to receive recognition with our Integrative Somatic Parts Work Certificate. A breakdown of the topics covered in each level are featured below.
Level 1
In this Level 1 workshop teaching methodologies will include didactic, guided experientials, meditations and video examples. You will leave understanding:
• Multiple theoretical lenses on multiplicity and innate wisdom
• How to differentiate parts and wisdom
• How to distinguish important differential qualities of inner states
• How to map a system of parts
• How to find and extend innate wisdom to parts
• Additionally, you will explore other key IFS concepts: Systems, Polarizations, Unblending, Unburdening. A systemic perspective includes awareness of the inner systems interactions with outer systems. IFS Somatic Awareness will be introduced.
Level 2
In this Level 2 workshop teaching methodologies will include didactic, guided experientials, meditations and video examples. You will leave understanding:
• The six practices of Somatic Internal Family Systems Therapy: Somatic Awareness, Conscious Breathing, Radical Resonance, Mindful Movement, Attuned Touch and Embodied Self
• An enhanced awareness of personal somatic parts
• A greater understanding of different experiences of parts and breath
• Practical tools for working with clients with medical illness
• Additionally you will experience strategies to deepen your personal embodiment of innate wisdom.
Level 3
In this Level 3 workshop teaching methodologies will include didactics and experiential learning, video demonstrations, meditations, case presentations, and discussion. You will leave understanding:
• Understand the shifts in a client’s presentation and develop more confidence in useful therapeutic responses
• Learn the common intentions of defensive strategies
• Increase your confidence when working with strong protectors
• Discover strategies to enlist protectors as allies
• Discover personal legacy burdens
• Learn a protocol for releasing legacy burdens
• Experience a guided process to release a personal legacy burden
• Understand how releasing legacy burdens contributes to overall healing

MEET YOUR TEACHER
Frances Booth has been a clinical social worker for 40+ years. A dynamic and thoughtful teacher, she has extensive clinical experience and is a certified trainer for PESI and the IFS Institute.

Therapeutic interventions include techniques from the practice areas of somatic experiencing, cognitive behavioral, hypnosis, guided imagery, mindfulness, gestalt, focusing, and stress management.
Fran has worked across a variety of therapeutic settings including The Healing Garden, a complementary care cancer center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, Tufts New England Hospital Psychiatric Unit, Faulkner Hospital Psychiatric Unit, and other medical and psychiatric locations.
She continues to find meaning in her work as a therapist, consultant and trainer.

No scholarships are available for this program.

There is no deadline for registration. Th trainings may be completed in your own time via the on-demand recordings.
