IFS & SOMATIC TRAUMA THERAPY CERTIFICATE

WHAT IS INTERNAL FAMILY SYSTEMS (IFS)?

Internal Family Systems (IFS), developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz and advanced by leaders like Dr. Frank Anderson, is one of the fastest-growing and most widely respected models for trauma healing today. IFS views the mind as a system of “parts” — protective, wounded, and exiled aspects of self that carry distinct feelings, beliefs, and roles. At the core of every person is the Self — a source of innate compassion, clarity, and wholeness that, when accessed, can guide profound healing.

IFS has been shown to be especially powerful in working with trauma because it:

  • Respects the wisdom of protective parts instead of overriding them.

  • Helps clients safely access and heal wounded or exiled parts.

  • Builds internal trust and coherence, allowing fragmented parts to integrate.

  • Restores access to Self — the embodied state of presence, safety, and compassion.

WHY THIS PROGRAM IS DIFFERENT

An Integrative Approach Led by Visionaries

Led by Dr. Frank Anderson: You’ll learn directly from a psychiatrist, trauma expert, and one of the foremost voices advancing IFS for complex trauma.

  • Integrated by design: You’ll practice weaving IFS, neuroscience, and somatic work in real time.

  • A Focus on the Body: This program weaves somatic practices into the IFS framework, ensuring that healing isn’t just cognitive, but fully embodied.

  • Developmental & attachment focus: Go beyond surface-level strategies to explore preverbal trauma and early attachment wounds.

  • Live Demos & Application: Watch master clinicians in action, engage in case consults, and practice in community.

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

Integrating the Fragmented Parts of the Self & Restoring Safety in the Body

Trauma fragments the self. It disrupts memory networks, hijacks the nervous system, and leaves behind protective parts that work overtime to shield us from pain. While these survival strategies are adaptive, over time they can create cycles of disconnection, hypervigilance, depression, and shame. Healing requires more than managing symptoms — it requires integrating the fragmented parts of the self and restoring safety in the body.

This is the heart of the IFS & Somatic Trauma Therapy Certificate.

This 10-module certificate, led by Dr. Frank Anderson (psychiatrist, author, and leading IFS trainer) with guest faculty Dr. Janina Fisher,  Dr. Arielle Schwartz, Fran Booth, Kai Cheng Thom, Linda Thai and Dr. Scott Lyons, offers a powerful integration of Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic practices, and neuroscience. Through lectures, live demonstrations, case consultations, and experiential learning, you’ll gain the skills to track fragmentation, work with protective and wounded parts, and restore safety and coherence in the body and mind.
