Balancing Earth and Space

A 90-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

This gentle morning practice with Lisa Clark i designed to balance the fluid pathways of cellular tone in a conscious relationship with earth and space. The practice will slowly build from the ground upwards with a felt sense of earth, support, condensing, expanding, and opening to space. It will re- balance your over all tone, rekindle your aliveness, nourish your sense of self, and support your relationship with the outer world.

You will need the following for class: 1-2 bolsters, 2-4 yoga blankets, 1-2 yoga blocks, and an eye pillow. We will be using the floor, wall, and a chair (simple metal folding chair or table chair).

Releasing the Habit of Separation: Yoga and the Alexander Technique

A 90-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Through the intersection of Restorative Yoga, the Alexander Technique and Zen meditation, we will settle the mind into the body and explore the ways we create separation. With supported yoga postures, and an attitude of inner friendliness and patience, we will methodically cultivate the body’s innate organization. We can release the tension that cuts us into pieces and expand into our natural wholeness.

For this class we will use 2 yoga blocks, 1 yoga strap, 3 blankets, and a chair—any old chair will do. Books, blankets, couch and bed pillows, scarves and ties are creative alternatives for yoga props.

From Devotion to Corruption: Exploring the Student Teacher Relationship in Yoga

A 90-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

How do we orient to our study and practice of yoga from a space of devotion when many of the world renowned teachers have been unmasked as perpetrators of sexual violence? How do we reconcile our earnest desire to surrender our egos on a path of practice when there is corruption of power everywhere we turn? We will explore the guru principle as our inner source of wisdom and how to orient to our outer teachers with compassion and discernment.

In this session we will explore:

  • The guru principle and how to access the inner guru.

  • Shadow material in the student-teacher relationship.

  • The energetics of devotional awareness through guided meditation.
