Expanding our Resources Within: Integrating Somatic Wisdom with Creativity for Trauma Recovery

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Resources are essential in trauma recovery because they support us in maintaining our sense of self, and balance in the face of disruption and stress. They are a source of strength and nurture a sense of our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. In this workshop, Atira will guide and share creative arts and somatic therapeutic approaches, integrating multi-modal creativity with somatic practices to expand and anchor our resources and resilience within as a practice to return back to our sense of self.

With almost fifteen years of experience working with trauma-informed approaches alongside art, yoga and mindfulness, Atira has a deep commitment and passion in empowering and healing women and girls globally from the inside out.

Clown - The Freedom To Be Yourself

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

To be a clown isn’t necessarily taking it as a life path, it can also mean embodying the qualities that allow us and the people around us to live a freer life, in lightness and joy. In this workshop you’re invited explore embodied playfulness, connection and empathy, risk and surprise, creativity and abandonment. Join Pedro to explore deep contact with ourselves and others through breathing, attention and reaction, and celebrate our fallible and imperfect body as the main gateway for spontaneity, authenticity and meaning. Together we’ll discover the role of body impulses and emotions in tension release, self-expression and presence, and reflect on the role and position of the clown in learning, healing and play!

Pedro is an international clown, director, teacher, speaker, psychologist and group specialist. He directed one of the biggest professional clown organisation in Portugal and Spain for several years and for the last 12 years he trained more than 300 clowns worldwide. Pedro is also a professional actor, hospital clown and Theatre director having performed and directed in 12 different countries. Drawing Forward with Hope

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

This workshop offers you the space to move, through expressive drawing, into new possibilities. COVID-19 has impacted most peoples’ lives significantly. Visceral responses include fear, distress, anxiety as well as boredom, frustration, and apathy. It is time to draw breath and draw hope for the next phase of our lives. This reflexive time of embodied drawing provides a sacred space, a place for reconnecting and healing, of prompting gentle forward momentum into a hopeful future.

If you can’t draw’ or are ‘not creative’, this session is crafted for you. Dress in comfortable clothes for movement, in a space you can move freely. Bring paper and fun drawing materials (e.g. crayons, felt tips, marker pens). Please note that there is the potential for triggering.

Curie Scott is a coach, artist, writer, consultant educator and researcher. She specialises in embodied cognition through creative making. Her reflective workshops using expressive drawing, making-by-hand, and metaphor reconnects people to their bodies and the surrounding environment.

Self through Sound: Self-expression and healing through singing and vocalisation

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Muriel will share her personal learnings and research regarding the embodiment of the core Self through singing, vocalisation and song-writing. The first half of the session will offer the opportunity for participants to be experientially lead through the creation process, as well as touching on how creativity can unfold from our everyday life moments. The second portion will be a live demonstration and transmission, with Muriel sharing sound and song for deep Self-connection, integration and wholeness. Muriel’s music is likened to clearing out the cobwebs of a vast ancient cathedral within through sound, inviting your surrender into power, love and deep peace.

Muriel is a sound healer who sings in ancient mystical resonances. Through her voice love is made audible, enabling the release of stress, trauma integration, and the re-enlivening of the Soul. Her music offers permission to feel beyond the confines of thought, allowing the whole and eternal self to awaken to its innate sacredness, power and worth. It unconditionally relays the message that no matter how wounded, bad or unworthy you think you are, you are a Soul - a being of greatness, deserving of love, wisdom and unity. Muriel’s song enables this remembrance and the reclamation of the ethereal and earthly self.

More Together Than Alone

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

While many of us are being forced to shelter in place, perhaps what is being asked of us, is to grow in place; to nurture our common roots by which we all branch out and touch the world. From this corner of isolation, will fear force us to turn against one another or will faith encourage us to turn toward each other? May we build something together that cannot be built alone.

'“Here are a few things that I hold sacred; the love of my life - Anneli, the miracle of that love - Jaylan, diversity, resilience, friends that cherish and challenge me, integrity, dancing alone, dancing with you, truth (it’s complicated), transparency, love”
