ABOUT THIS SUMMIT
Gather with us live & online, July 11th, 2021 for our Full-Day Summit to deepen our somatic healing journey around the theme “Embodying Resilience.”
As we move toward an uncertain future, our individual and collective resilience will shape the quality of our experiences and possibilities. Resilience expands our capacity for facing new challenges, exploring unknown social and political landscapes, and overcoming trauma. In this One Day Summit we’ll shine a light on the conditions and tools for building resilience in our modern world. Through discussions with leaders in the fields of somatics, counselling, psychology and activism we’ll explore where resilience lives in the mind and body and how it can be a foundation for authentic expression, powerful engagement and beneficial change.
This summit’s world-leading embodiment experts include Dr. Amber L. Elizabeth Gray, Devika Shankar, Chara Caruthers, Karina Kalilah, Dr. Andrea Juhan, and Dr. Scott Lyons. Plus you’ll receive BONUS meditations from Dr. Rick Hanson when you sign up for the event!

Resilience and Rebirthing Breathwork
A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
This workshop is an introduction to the power of Conscious Connected Breathing and how it can support your capacity to be resilient. This is a safe container for you to dive deep within yourself, to clear what could be stuck/blocked on a physical, emotional, and energetic level, so that you can come into a deeper state of presence, clarity, and inspiration.
Rebirthing Breathwork is conscious connected breathing through the nose. It is a breath into the heart through the third eye, activating all energy centres, moving energy through the body, releasing tension, stress, and in longer sessions even trauma, in a safe and gentle way. While this workshop is an introduction to Rebirthing Breathwork, it can also be deeply transformational, all while surrendering to the process and learning to hold your own space through the amplification of energy through your breath.
Dr. Amber L. Elizabeth Gray
7:45am PDT (Los Angeles) / 10:45am EDT (New York) / 3:45pm GMT (London) / 4:45pm CET (Paris) / 12:45am AEST (Sydney)
The HeArt of Resilience
A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
Resilience is often referred to as something we build. Resilience is actually a process that derives from, and supports, relationship, connection, and engagement. Those of us who directly steward the restorative process for survivors of trauma are exposed to stories, histories, and emotions that impact our own well-being and worldview and can amplify our own suffering. This presentation offers a reframe on Resilience as an emergent process that is relational, creative and embodied, and centers socio-cultural and socio-spiritual approaches to individual and communal resilience drawn from the presenters experience in conflict, post-conflict and disaster zones in a diversity of cultures.
Dr. Andrea Juhan
9:30am PDT (Los Angeles) / 12:30pm (New York) / 5:30pm GMT (London) / 6:30pm CET (Paris) / 2:30am AEST (Sydney)
Community of Practice: Embodied Movement Therapy for the Communities We Live In
A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
In this session Andrea will introduce Therapy in Motion (TIM), a branch of Open Floor Movement Practice. TIM puts movement at the center of the therapeutic process. Moving together in a well held group establishes embodiment as a common language and promotes greater psychological sophistication and relational intelligence. Andrea will offer a mini class experience of one or two Core Movement Resources that are necessary for integrated emotional intelligence, enduring resiliency and wellbeing. After, we will unpack our experiences to discover, experientially what this format offer.
Devika Shankar
11:15am PDT (Los Angeles) / 2:15pm EDT (New York) / 7:15pm GMT (London) / 8:15pm CET (Paris) / 4:15am AEST (Sydney)
Embodied Resilience for Transformation
A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
In this session, we will explore the concept of resilience, from the ways it gets misused, individualized, and weaponized (particularly against individuals and communities with marginalized identities) – to the idea of rest and the commodification of “self-care” – to the liberatory practice of collective embodied resilience for transformation, in our own lives and in the world. We will also explore a framework for developing an embodied awareness of our personal stress and relaxation cycles, and practice real-time strategies for cultivating embodied resilience to build our long-term capacity and sustainability over time for the long-haul work of transformation.
Chara Caruthers
1pm PDT (Los Angeles) / 4pm EDT (New York) / 9pm GMT (London) / 10pm CET (Paris) / 6am AEST (Sydney)
