Trauma-Informed Plant Medicine Facilitation: A New Paradigm in Trauma Recovery and Resolution

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Working with plant medicine and psychedelics can present enormous psycho-spiritual challenges. Many come to heal and process traumatic experiences through the plant medicines, however, few plant medicine facilitators, support workers, and integration therapists have training in how to respond effectively to the various trauma imprints that arise before, during, and after the ceremonial space in a professional way. In this lecture, Atira Tan, Head of Integration at AYA Healing Retreats, will share why being trauma-informed is essential in facilitation and 3 tips and tools to create safer spaces through trauma-informed principles from the Trauma-Informed Plant Medicine paradigm.

The Promise and Challenges of Psychedelic Therapy

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

As co-founder of Inwardbound Psilocybin Retreats in the Netherlands (www.inwardbound.nl), Rob has facilitated hundreds of people through the process of psilocybin retreats. In this talk he will be looking at the promise and challenges of psychedelic therapy from a psychotherapeutic perspective. During this session he will draw on his belief that the only way to create change in the world is through inner psychological work. He is deeply connected to the land and sacred sites of Ireland, and for the past few years has been connecting deeply to the ancestral wisdom of Ireland.

Rob will take you on a journey of how his work reconnects people to themselves, to each other, and to nature.

Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy: A New Model for Psychedelic Therapy

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Join Saj Razvi and explore a new treatment approach that pairs the altered state of consciousness created by psychedelic medicine with embodied, autonomic processes to amplify innate healing tendencies. Through the psychedelic state we are able to access the body’s autonomic and relational self corrective mechanisms that support the healing of trauma.

We’ll explore how the partnership between psychedelic consciousness and our innate biological healing capacity creates an autonomic, bottom-up capacity to address stress and PTSD symptoms more effectively than traditional top down cognitive, narrative, insight based forms of therapy.

How to Develop a Psychotherapy for Psychedelic Medicine

A 75-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

In this session, Alex will lead a conversation and an introduction to the EMBARK model of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy.  EMBARK is a new integrative and transdiagnostic framework to psychedelic treatment distilled from twenty different models of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, leading process evidence, and the teachings of senior teachers in the field.

'EMBARK' explores six clinical domains: Existential-spiritual, Mindfulness, Body-aware, Affective-cognitive, Relational, and Keeping momentum.

In this session you’ll gain insight into each of these domains and how they can support the process of therapy, recovery and healing across a range of clinical indications and diverse communities.

The Dangers of Disembodiment and the Promise of Somatic Psychedelic Psychotherapy

A 75 MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION

Devon will share her experiential wisdom as a medical doctor, relational somatic therapist, long time yogi and mindfulness teacher, and researcher in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy about what she sees as a "new/old" and very hopeful frontier for deep healing: the intentional incorporation of trauma-informed, embodiment-oriented psychotherapy with psychedelic-assisted therapy.

She will speak specifically to MDMA-assisted psychotherapy, what this therapy looks like, how somatics may be incorporated, and the recent efficacy and safety data on this breakthrough treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She will also touch upon similarities and differences to MDMA in bringing an embodiment lens to working with 'classical' psychedelics, like psilocybin and ayahuasca, as well as some pitfalls that may arise if embodiment is not prioritized as both an essential therapist capacity and an aspect of the therapeutic approach in psychedelic-assisted therapy.
