Embodied Integration: Deepening the EMDR Installation Phase with Somatic Interventions
A 60-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
This experiential session explores how integrating somatic embodiment practices into the Installation phase of EMDR can deepen therapeutic impact, enhance nervous system regulation, and support more durable integration of adaptive memory networks. Participants will learn how to guide clients beyond cognitively focused installation by engaging interoceptive awareness, posture, breath, movement, and felt sense to embody positive cognitions and resourced states during installation. Embodied installation not only helps consolidate adaptive responses at a procedural and autonomic level, clients develop a clear internal state they can recognize, return to, and draw upon outside of sessions, supporting ongoing regulation and integration. Through brief didactic teaching and guided practices, clinicians will gain practical, immediately applicable tools to support clients in embodying the positive belief rather than simply thinking it.
Dr. David Grand
11:15am - 12:15pm ET (U.S. Eastern Time)
Brainspotting: Healing Through the Neuroexperiential Lens
A 60-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
This session will review the development of Brainspotting and its Neuroexperiential Model (NEM). Brainspotting is a relational brain-body mindfulness trauma healing model. It makes use of relevant eye positions revealed by the ocular nervous system which directly accesses the seven other subdivisions of the nervous system to access, process and release unprocessed trauma. The NEM will also be outlined in terms of frame which is mutually held in the face of uncertainty and how culture comes before science.
Sergio Ocampo

Staying with Emotion: How Somatic Support Deepens EMDR Work
A 60-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
EMDR is a powerful method for resolving traumatic memory, yet intense emotions that arise can often interrupt processing. This presentation explores how emotions are embodied and how somatic awareness offers a clear pathway to resolving overwhelm as it arises. By adding simple, precise somatic interventions alongside EMDR, clinicians can help emotions, settle, discharge, and provide insight without pausing the process. Participants will experience how body-based support helps our nervous system digest emotional charge, allowing EMDR to proceed fluidly. This approach not only deepens regulation but also can significantly accelerate trauma resolution while enhancing safety — and reinforcing the therapeutic relationship.

2 - 3pm ET (U.S. Eastern Time)
Interrupting the Cycle: A Somatic + EMDR-Informed Approach to Addiction and Recovery
A 60-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
This one-hour training offers a practical overview of how EMDR can support clients struggling with addiction and those in early recovery. We will explore the neurobiological, somatic, and emotional dynamics of addiction, and how EMDR can interrupt cycles of use, stabilize recovery, and promote long-term healing. Participants will learn two visual models to conceptualize the addiction and recovery process and identify key intervention points. We will also explore EMDR-informed tools that support regulation, decrease cravings, and strengthen resilience. You will learn at least one applied EMDR resource you can use immediately. No EMDR certification required.
Dr. Chinwé Williams
3:15 - 4:15pm ET (U.S. Eastern Time)
EMDR Strategies for Treating Cultural Stress and Trauma
A 60-MINUTE EXPERIENTIAL SESSION
This training provides clinicians with practical, culturally responsive strategies for supporting culturally diverse communities experiencing elevated stress and anxiety. Participants will learn to use structured assessment questions and trauma‑informed approaches to explore race‑related and systemic factors shaping clients’ stress responses. The workshop introduces EMDR tools and resources that help regulate the body’s stress response and reduce acute anxiety symptoms. Through demonstration and applied practice, participants will learn accessible somatic and EMDR‑based interventions that strengthen embodied resilience and enhance clients’ capacity to navigate personal and systemic stressors. This course supports clinicians seeking to deepen cultural responsiveness and effectiveness in a time of deep socio-political divisions.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to identify and use clinical strategies to broach discussions about culturally‑related and systemic factors contributing to stress and anxiety in culturally diverse communities.
- Participants will be able to demonstrate the use of somatic interventions and EMDR‑informed resources that support immediate shifts in the body’s stress response and reduce acute anxiety symptoms in clients affected by cultural stress.
- Participants will be able to apply EMDR-based and somatic treatment interventions that help clients develop embodied resources for responding to personal and systemic stressors with increased flexibility and resilience.

The Body Keeps the Score - EMDR and Trauma
A 90 MINUTE INTERVIEW SESSION
This session with renowned trauma expert Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and co-hosted by Karee Powers and Dr. Scott Lyons, delves into the transformative potential of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy for trauma treatment. With insights into its development, effectiveness, and limitations, the discussion explores how EMDR integrates with somatic practices and other modalities to address both acute and complex trauma. Participants gain valuable knowledge on tracking physiological states, the cultural paradigms shaping therapeutic practices, and innovative directions for trauma therapy, including psychodrama and psychedelic-assisted therapies.
